Dear Valued Customer,
Due to the upcoming 4th of July holiday falling on a Thursday, and the subsequent ILWU recognized holiday that falls on July 5, Matson and Span Alaska will be implementing several significant schedule changes.
Company Wide: All Span Alaska and Midnight Sun service centers will be closed on Thursday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day.
Vessel Schedules: Due to the ILWU holiday, voyage MAC273N departing Tacoma on Friday, June 28, will call on Anchorage and Kodiak as scheduled. However, there will be no vessel call in Dutch Harbor on Friday, July 5, in observance of the Bloody Thursday holiday.
The regularly scheduled Friday sailing, voyage MTC272N, will be pushed back one day to Saturday, July 6, due to the Friday port closure. The ship will depart Tacoma on Saturday, July 6, call on Anchorage on Wednesday, July 10, bypass Kodiak, and call on Dutch Harbor on Friday, July 12.
Auburn Service Center: The Auburn Service Center will be open on Friday, July 5, with extended receiving hours until 1700 from the normal sailing day 1200 cutoff. Additionally, the Auburn Dispatch team will be operating on Saturday, July 6, to deliver loads to the Port of Tacoma for the MTC272N departing on Saturday due to the Friday port closure.
Alaska Service Centers: All Alaska Service Centers will be closed on Thursday, July 4, and open on Friday, July 5, for normal operations. As a result, we anticipate up to a 24 hour delivery delay for shipments on the Friday, June 28, sailing MAC273N. Please contact your local service center if you will be closed on Friday, July 5, so we can plan accordingly.
